Welcome to Centennial

Filled with lots of recreation and excellent schools, this town is centrally located

Incorporated in 2001, Centennial is one of Colorado’s newest and most populous cities—maintaining a population of around 100,000 residents. Situated near Centennial airport, this area is accessible yet quiet and has been celebrated for its close-knit, welcoming community.

There are many large parks here and several golf courses. Two ice arenas offer opportunities for skaters and hockey players. One of the nationally recognized complexes plays host to the Colorado Avalanche, a professional hockey team based in Denver.

A big draw of Centennial is the excellent public school districts and family-oriented neighborhoods.

Shopping and dining options are abundant in Centennial. The Streets at South Glenn is a popular location. The mixed-use center includes shopping, dining, living and working areas. The site underwent significant redevelopment in 2009, completely modernizing all shops and stores.

The South Suburban Golf Course offers a picturesque mountain backdrop and a superbly maintained, 18-hole regulation course. An adjacent 9-hole, par-3 course is also available, as is a 3,000 square-foot practice area, featuring a putting surface, a chipping area, and a practice bunker. An on-site bar and grill is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can dine indoors or alfresco, enjoying sweeping views of the golf course and mountain range.

Also popular with Centennial residents is Big Bill’s New York Pizza, offering hand-tossed New York-style pizza, calzones, salads, and other Italian-inspired dishes. Snooze is a beloved breakfast eatery well known for its creative pancakes, omelets, breakfast tacos and burritos, avocado toast, and more.

Things to Do

A weekly farmers market takes over the Streets of Southglenn in the spring and summer months, and a Holiday Light Tour is a can’t-miss each December.

Many Centennial residents frequent Cherry Creek State Park, which offers a natural prairie and wetland environment with an 880-acre reservoir at its center. Many seasonal events occur at Tagawa Gardens, a longstanding, spacious garden center for plants, flowers, trees, yard art, and gifts.

Centennial is home to a number of excellent schools. Top educational opportunities include:
